Frances Yeend, classical soprano singer born in Vancouver, Washington in 1913.

G. R. Percival was mayor of Vancouver, Washington for one term (1918-1920).  On election night in 1920 he disappeared.  A month later his body was found hung in a tree on Hayden Island.  On dark, foggy nights it is said that his ghost can be seen walking South across the I-5 bridge.  

Mary Barnard, born in 1909 in Vancouver, Washington. Poet, biographer, and translator of Greek works, most famously the works of Sappho.
